Management and Leadership Skills
COMSATSAbout This Course
This four-week microcredential helps you manage people so that difference becomes a source of better work rather than a source of friction. You will start by making the language of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) usable in ordinary management tasks, including the important distinction between treating people equally and treating them equitably.
You will then examine what inclusive managers actually do: how they notice bias, run fairer conversations, and design defaults that do not quietly favour people who already resemble the manager. From there the course follows the employee lifecycle. You will practise inclusive attraction, recruitment, and induction; support development when people have different circumstances; lead multicultural teams so that varied perspectives improve decisions; enable fair progression; and use exit interviews as organisational learning rather than a polite goodbye.
Teaching is case-based. A running workplace story (Harborline, a mid-size customer operations organisation) shows how small design choices in meetings, job adverts, stretch work, and leaving conversations either widen or shrink belonging. Each lesson includes a worked example, a production-ready infographic brief, openly licensed or freely available resources, a short practice task, and formative multiple-choice questions. Weekly quizzes consolidate the module. The capstone asks you to write an inclusive management action plan for a real or realistic team.
The course is written at CEFR B2 in a professional, practical tone. Legal examples are illustrated with UK equality practice as a regional note; you should localise duties, protected characteristics, and procedures to your jurisdiction. You will leave with behaviours you can use in the next one-to-one, the next vacancy, and the next team decision — not with a slogan.
